Who we are
Our website address is: https://www.coverletterexamples.app.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you contact us through our contact form, we use the data you submit to deal with your enquiry.
Please see above.
We use Google Analytics data to track how users move around our website and use our content. This is largely anonymous but may reveal your IP address to us.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you contact us through our contact form, we retain the data for as long as is needed to deal with your enquiry, or as required by law.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments on this site or submitted a contact form, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We use Dropbox to store backups of the data on the website which may include comments currently displayed the website and contact form submissions (not publicly visible). Backups are retained for 3 days although sometimes a master backup will be retained for up to 6 months. Our server provider EuroVPS takes daily backups and these are retained for 30 days.
How we protect your data
Dropbox is extremely secure – you can read more about the measures taken to protect data here. EuroVPS servers are secure and GDPR compliant.
